Before I got started making unique cake toppers, I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. I went to school at the University of California at Santa Cruz, where I received a BA in Fine Arts and a BA in Psychology. Now I live in Langley on beautiful Whidbey Island, Washington.
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I love to make things with my hands. My interests range from drawing, especially cartooning, painting, knitting, pottery, jewelry, sculpting, and bronze casting.
In 2000, I made one of my first polymer clay unique cake toppers for my sister’s wedding. I find polymer clay to be a very enjoyable material to work with. It’s very versatile, durable, and really conducive for creating whimsical, endearing sculptures. It combines some of my favorite things: sculpture, cartooning, and color.
